The way we
all communicate and use social media today changed as brands and consumers
adapted to the disruption the pandemic produced in their daily lives. Moreover,
in 2022, the time that seemed best for posting something on social media has
altered and become more focused.
The average
individual uses multiple social networks each month, and across all platforms,
social media is used by over 4 billion people. Social media, without question,
offers opportunities for many enterprises. 71% of consumers reported utilizing
social media more frequently than in prior years. Therefore brands and
marketers must find ways to connect with their customers there. Additionally,
all sectors of the organization gain when marketers exceed social media user
expectations.
To
understand when their content was most and least engaged, split down by
platform and industry, we carefully collaborated with our data science team to
evaluate social media usage statistics and trends over the past year from over
30,000 Sprout Social clients.
Use this
data to help plan your publishing calendar, or read on for ideas on how to
incorporate these findings into your engagement peak analysis for your specific
account.

The most effective times of
day to post on social media:
Each social
platform has advantages depending on your goals, content type, and audience. If
you notice that your engagement isn’t where it should be, consider reevaluating
your social media goals and overall KPIs. Of course, knowing which days you are
most engaged also helps you achieve these goals.
When we
looked at the data for each social network separately, we observed Tuesdays,
Thursdays, and around nine or ten in the morning. Consistently had the highest
levels of engagement. Midweek mornings have been effective on most social media
platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Tuesday-Thursday
at 9 am or 10 am is frequently the greatest time to post on social media.
Tuesday to
Thursday are good days to post on social media.
Days to
avoid posting on social media: Sundays
This little
statistic only scratches the surface of what social media posting entails. At
very different periods during the week, each network experienced varying
amounts of interaction. Engagement varies considerably more when industries are
taken into account. A few more things to consider before scheduling any posts,
even though Tuesday to Thursday at 9 am or 10 am is typically the greatest time
to post on social media.
When should you share
something on Facebook?
You can
connect and share updates with your friends, family, and coworkers on the
Facebook website.
The best
times to make a post on Facebook are between the hours of 9 am and 1 pm on
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday. Avoid publishing on Saturdays because,
according to research from Sprout Social, that day of the week had the lowest
engagement.
Facebook
remains undefeated as the best social media platform in the world, so you can’t
go wrong with posting. Facebook enjoys constant interaction. However, the most
regular engagement and possibilities for marketers to consume their content are
during the weekdays, evenings, and early mornings.
What time of day should you
Instagram
began as a straightforward photo-sharing website, but it has developed into a
full-fledged retail app with influencers who promote firms’ goods and services.
The best
time to post on Instagram is between 11 am, and 2 pm. on Tuesdays and 11 am.
Monday through Friday.
Many
companies have turned to Instagram for business purposes. Over the past few
years, Instagram has been updated with several new features, including reels,
shopping on Instagram, an algorithm-based feed, and other entertaining
enhancements. Instagram is the ideal platform for marketers to publish fresh
content, whether it’s an infographic, a funny video, or a high-quality photo.
To assist you in producing crawl-worthy content for your feed, you might
consider hiring expert social media content development services.
When is the ideal moment to
tweet?
For posting
up-to-the-minute (or even split-second!) news updates in bite-sized quantities
of 280 characters or fewer, Twitter is a key medium.
According to
Hootsuite research, Mondays and Thursdays at 8 am the greatest times to post on
Twitter during the week. If you must post on the weekend, try to do so early in
the day, even later when Twitter people are up.
However,
since tweets are so fleeting, don’t be afraid to schedule tweets (or write them
at the moment!) for all hours of the day. You can’t over-post on Twitter like
you can on other platforms.
The best time to post on
LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is
the world’s largest online professional networking site.
According to
data from Hootsuite, the best times to post on LinkedIn are Tuesdays and
Wednesdays at 9 am.
However,
LinkedIn uses less recency in its algorithm and considers higher quality,
relevance, and trending content, so the time you post may not matter as much on
LinkedIn as on other platforms.
